PIATS 2006: Tibetan Sudies: Proceedings of the Eleventh Seminar of the International Association for TibetanStudies, Königswinter 2006.
From 27th August – 2nd September 2006 the Eleventh Seminar of the International Association for Tibetan Studies (IATS) was hold in Königswinter , Germany , and convened by Professor Peter Schwieger and the Department for Mongolian and Tibetan Studies of the Institute for Orient and Asian Studies at Bonn University .
390 participants attended the seminar and about 350 papers were presented in all together 36 panels covering a wide range of topics within the fields of anthropology and sociology, development studies, linguistics, studies on religion, Buddhist philosophy, art history, classical and modern literature, Tibetan medicine, history, gender, the Tibetan exile community and the Tibeto-Mongolian relations.
We expect the proceedings to be published in all together seventeen volumes, one edited by the convener and the others by different panel leaders. The first three volumes are available by the end of April 2009.
